Tell us about your business?

Tripfez is fighting for something travellers have always taken for granted: the ability for an

individual (in our case a Muslim) to choose where in the world they feel like they really belong.

Since its establishment, Tripfez has been growing from strength to strength, with focus in creating value for Muslim travellers and playing a part in the growth of the Islamic Economy. We are now recognized as a leading player within the Islamic economy at large and more importantly within the Muslim travel segment.

In 2017, we delivered a strong overall performance and recorded key strategic developments during the year. Tripfez together with its brand Salam Standard has successfully strengthened its position as one of the leading travel company within the Muslim travel segment. 2 core aspects were successfully achieved:-

1. A global definition of Halal/Muslim-friendly travel through the introduction of a clear classification system. Serving as a global authority with more than 50000 hotels covering more than 80% of geographical coverage in many countries.

2. Salam Standard panel provides a guideline for NTOs and hotels on how to approach the market with partnerships including that with Malaysia and Abu Dhabi.

How did you get the idea for your business?

We use to travel a lot during university days and after graduation we wanted to venture into a business that we really love, hence travel

What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?

I would rather try and fail than not try at all and fail from the beginning.

If you were deserted on an island, what would you bring?

My handphone.

Watch a piece of art for hours.

Gaulle, Sri Lanka

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?

A watch. I love watches.
