CEO and founder of
Junge & Kollegen
FIRST OFF, CAN YOU GIVE US A BIT OF BACKGROUND INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELF?
I am Daniel, 33 years old and based in Berlin Germany. Before becoming an entrepreneur I went to Grad School for International Relations and was with the UN and World Bank. Besides working on my companies I am most passionate about running, crossfit and travelling the world.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS.
In 2014 I co-founded a stationary service company in the health industry. Together with my co-founder who is a psychotherapist we provide different services surrounding the treatment of patients. When my friends with online businesses ask me what I do I tell them I have created an offline marketplace... Most recently I co-founded a social business to help with the current refugee crisis in Europe.
HOW DID THE IDEA FOR YOUR BUSINESS COME ABOUT?
After selling my last venture I wanted to create a company with an even more sustainable business model which would be less influenced by fast market changes.
I found that once you have certain experience as an entrepreneur, it is easier to recognise potential in ideas. A friend told me about challenges in her industry as a psychotherapist. After crunching some numbers I asked her to become my co-founder.
WHAT THREE PIECES OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO COLLEGE STUDENTS WHO WANT TO BECOME ENTREPRENEURS?
- Start with a small idea. It´s less of a risk, yet you will have a great learning experience
- Surround yourself with entrepreneurs
- Walls are there to keep the ones out who don´t want it badly enough
HAS EYES PLAYED ANY ROLE IN YOUR VENTURE?
EYES provides an excellent platform for exchanging ideas between entrepreneurs. When starting a new venture and bringing it up to solid speed I find it essential to get feedback from other entrepreneurs who face similar challenges.
