Co-Founder of PANCHO’S KITCHEN
How would a friend describe you?
They would say that I’m eager to learn and grow not only as an entrepreneur, but also as a person. I’m constantly searching for new sources of top-quality knowledge. I’m goal-oriented and love to talk about the big picture. Community is very important to me and I hold my friends close. I’m the first to admit when I make a mistake and strive to always keep ego out of decision making.
How did you get your idea for Pancho’s Kitchen?
We named our business “Pancho’s Kitchen” (a healthy dog food company) in honor of our first customer, Pancho (fellow EYES member Juan Ibarra’s dog), who suffered from several health ailments that were remedied by our natural pet food recipes.
What do you do on a daily basis to grow as an entrepreneur?
Morning meditation - Check out Joe Dispensa
Entrepreneurial podcasts - Foundr Magazine, Tim Ferris
Audio books - currently listening to The Like Switch
Stay in touch with high-level performers - #EYES
Eat a well-balanced diet to ensure mental clarity and optimal mental performance
What common entrepreneurial stereotype do you disagree the most with? Why?
While I can’t speak for others, my own personal misperception of entrepreneurship was assuming it would take way less time and energy to get through the “pain period,” and to be able to pay ourselves just enough to survive!
What’s your personal manner of balancing work and life?
I schedule EVERYTHING. I block out time for my relationship and myself, just as I do for my business week. Also, life hack that I’ve learned since joining EYES: iPhone auto do not disturb mode from 9pm - until post-morning routine.
Do you have any hobbies? What are they?
Water-related activities—I’ll never say no to anything water related! I grew up spear fishing, boating, surfing, and scuba diving.
What do you value most about being an EYES member? What does being an EYES member mean to you?
Community is what I appreciate most. I’m a firm believer that the people you surround yourself with are the people you become. The board, the membership committee, and the entire EYES team make sure we maintain a body of extraordinary members. Every event I have been to pushes me to hold myself to an even higher standard in life. Here’s to never stopping that growth!
