First EYES Retreat
Our last event of 2018 introduced a new event format, the Global Retreat. The retreat will always be characterized by more member interaction, introspection and holistic growth. It will focus on forming even stronger bonds by learning from each other and reflecting together. Each event will work around specific topics that are relevant, both to members who are about to start their first venture and to members who are further in their journey.
What did we do?
The first edition took place in Roatan, Honduras with a small detour through Panama City and a marvellous post-event trip in Panama. During the first edition of these Global Retreats, we had an incredible four days on the Caribbean island of Roatán, hosted by our former chairman Erick Brimen.

Filled with introspection and valuable insight into each other's lives and minds through extensive member interaction and beautiful environment, we hope that those of you that came with us to Roatán have come back to your routine refreshed and renewed. Days were filled with discussion panels in idyllic palapa along the waterside, and talks through land in development, boat rides, snorkelling, and monkey/sloth shenanigans. Our Roatán adventure was flanked by stopovers in Panama, hosted by Omar Ynzenga. Omar also took care of us by organising the post-event in the spectacular private retreat El Otro Lado, in Portobelo National Park.

Things to consider before buying
Please consider the following before purchasing a ticket for this event:
- Travel expenses from your home destination to the event location are not included.
- Check your visa and passport requirements well in advance of this event.
- Upon purchase you agree to the EYES Society Rules (incl. the Code of Conduct) and to sign the liability waiver which will be provided to you after confirmation.
Cancellation and refund policy
If you should have to cancel your registration, notification in writing should be sent to office@eyesinternational.org. Please make sure you state the name of the event in the subject line of your email.
- A full refund will be given for cancellations received 90 days or more prior to the event.
- A refund of 80% will be given for cancellations received between 89 days prior to 61 days to the start of the event.
- A refund of 40% will be given for cancellations received between 60 days prior to 31 days to the start of the event.
- No refund will be issued for cancellations received within 30 days of the event, nor failure to attend.
Force majeure
EYES shall not be liable to refund of fees or for any other penalty should the event be cancelled due to war, fire, strike lock-out, industrial action, tempest, accident, civil disturbance or any other cause whatsoever beyond their control.
